What are Magickal Scouts?

At each scout meeting, the girls will create magnificent sacred art.  For example-we craft and work with such things as wands-spirit dolls-paper mache skulls-dragon pendants-ancient alphabet scrolls-a secret book (book of shadows)-goddess work-brooms (for sweeping out the negative)-bard invocations and poetry work (plus much more).


Pixie Scouts (ages 6-8)

Pixie Scouts (ages 6-8) is a school-year long, once a month, two hour class that meets on a Sunday  (to assist with Saturday conflicts) taught by Victoria Gill and  an assistant.   This group of teachings is an outcropping of a previous format also called Faery Scouts (ages 6-11) that started in 1999.  There have been three different Faery Scout groups since that time.  Responding to a request for a magickal setting for the younger girls, this Pixie Scout group began in the fall of 2010 and will be in its 12th year this fall-2022.  Payment options are available upon request.

What is a Pixie Scout?

A Pixie Scout is involved in a series of teachings based on the life of the magickal child. In a world where there is so much strife and confusion, there is a need to address and honor the charming heart of the young maiden. And, to create a place that is safe-fun and meets the yearnings of her inquisitive and creative mind. Some areas that will be covered are: learning and saying the lineage of the mother-line-faery tales based on the stories of strong girls and women-songs-dancing-jumping a cauldron of fire (safe) and endless crafts using things of the natural world based on the monthly studies.

Faery Scouts (ages 9-11)

Faery Scouts is a school year-long-once a month-3 hour class that meets on a Sunday (to assist those with Saturday conflicts) taught by Victoria Gill and assisted by-Kathy Beckley.  This unique type of scout embraces a girl’s magickal heart and mind.   The original Faery Scouts, Troup #1 was initiated in Olympia, Washington, in 1999.  A new scout group, Troup #2, started in Portland, Oregon in 2005.  Faeries Scouts, Troup #3 began in September 2011 and continues. We will resume the 2022-2023 scout meetings on October 9th 2022.  Payment options are available upon request. Eight girls accepted.

What is a Faery Scout?

A Faery Scout (ages 9-11) is involved in a series of teachings based on the life of the magickal girl.   In part, the teachings are intended to create an awareness of the ancient practice of girls who sit and study at the feet of wise women and men and especially their elders.

Gaia Scouts (ages 12-18)

Gaia Scouts (ages 12-18) is a school year-long-once a month-4 hour circle that meets on a Sunday (to assist those with Saturday engagements) taught by Victoria Gill and her assistant-Patty Snow.  This unique type of magickal scouts addresses the heart-mind and spirit of the maiden in the process of becoming a woman in full power.  And, who is in touch with the earth upon which she stands (Gaia)-the moon above her head (Grandmother Moon) and the teachings and myths of the Goddess tradition.

What is a Gaia Scout?

A Gaia Scout is a maiden who is involved in a series of teachings that follows the old ways of the Goddess tradition as well as the cycles of the moon and looks to the magick that dwells in a young maiden’s body-mind and spirit.  It is a path that aligns with the ancient Celtic-European-folklore-traditions and customs.

As a girl enters and lives her teen years, there are overwhelming challenges which face a young woman of this age.  Gaia Scouts provide a safe place to honor herself-the goddess within and the earth (Gaia) upon which she stands.  Gaia Scouts also provides an opportunity to come and sit at the feet of wise women (crones) and to learn the ways of those who have walked before her on this path of life.
